Hello, I’m Mithila

I am a Product Design Leader based in NYC.

I make complex systems simple to use. I've done that in enterprise SaaS at VMware, streamlining fragmented device-management workflows, and in consumer media at BuzzFeed, rebuilding editorial and quiz tools. The goal in both cases is the same: systems that are cohesive and work for the people using them.

I foster teams that connect what the business needs to what the end user experiences. I've led design across a variety of surfaces, working with stakeholders from IT admins to editorial writers.

My Design Values

Empathy

I hold empathy for the people using the product and the people building it. My job is to advocate for the user while giving my designers room to take risks.

Resilient Design

I build with the future in mind. I've led products through mergers and rapid shifts in consumer behavior, and that's shaped my belief in flexible processes and modular designs that hold up as business goals change.

Real Impact

I focus on results that matter: hitting business goals, building trust through visual consistency, helping the team ship faster. Design should make the product more valuable, not just move through a process.

Intentional Process

I adjust process as the business shifts. Process shouldn't slow a team down. It should remove guesswork and make the intent behind each step clear.
